• Ok I'm getting a tattoo tomorrow. I'm a little nervous to be honest. I'm getting a star anklet on my ankle. Not directly on the ankle bone but just above it a little. I heard that it really hurts. Does it hurt to the point of crying or does it hurt but it's bearable?? Thanks for your guys help.

  • okay....not to scare you or anything ...but ...coming from a person that can tolerate pain very well ...im talking about my tongue is picered ..my belly ...and ive had surgeries....broken arm etc ...i can take pain ...BUT ...when i got my 1st tattoo which was like 6 months ago ...i was gonna seriously kill mself ...i dont know how the hell people have so many...its like someone is putting a knife in ur skin ...SORRY ...got to vent from my experience.


  • Everyone takes it differently. the feeling will range from mildly irritating, like sunburn, to a more pain full continuous bee sting like sensation.

    Get plenty of rest, eat a good meal before your appointment and stay calm.....it's only a little pain and the mark will last forever


  • Don't worry you will be fine. It's just your nerves that are getting the best of you. Relax and stay still. It does hurt i'm not going to lie but not to the point where you want to cry and scream and carry on (the tattoo artist thinks your being a baby when you do that) not to mention it takes their focus away from your tattoo which can cause scarring and other mishaps. The ankle bone sucks. I have to say though. My tattoo goes from my toes to my mid ankle.. bone is the worst thing alive lol. Good luck. Never regret. Just love.


  • You should be expecting to have something that will be on your body for the rest of your life. Is this star anklet something that would look good on your grandma? Just asking..


  • I got the exact same tattoo, a green & pink star next to my ankle bone
    it didnt hurt that much, its very tolarable pain..
    dont be scared, just go in with a clear head and youll be fine


  • it's different for each person and it also depends on where it is. some spots on your body are more sensitive. your ankles, for example, are more sensitive then your thighs. it will be painful, but not enough to cry. You'll be fine. and, be sure to follow all the aftercare instructions.


  • all tattoos hurt but most are bearable... or people wouldn't be getting them... i have one that is more on my calf and is about a couple inches above my ankle... it only hurt towards the bottom of my tattoo...
